Chris and Charlotte offer a personalised service which ensures that you will depart as

friends. Lonely Planet says:
"This is one of the best places to stay in Kafue. It’s designed to give visitors maximum exposure to the bush, so a few nights here is about as genuine as it gets....Chris and Charlotte’s passion is lions. Chris has written three books on them...and is a fountain of knowledge. These guys have spent many years in the bush and really know what they’re doing; they’re absolutely passionate about wildlife.....If roaring has been heard in the night you’ll be woken early in the morning and carted off for a walk to locate the king of the felines. It may end up being the highlight of your trip to Africa."

The hot spring pools at McBrides Camp are created by geothermal processes, where underground water is naturally heated by the Earth’s internal energy before rising to the surface. These springs demonstrate the interaction between geology and hydrology, offering both a unique natural feature and an important reminder of the power of geothermal activity.

The Kafue River winds over 1,600 km through Zambia, shaping landscapes and sustaining life before joining the Zambezi. From powering the nation through the Kafue Gorge dams, to nurturing wildlife in the vast wetlands of the Kafue Flats, it’s one of Zambia’s most vital lifelines — a river of energy, beauty, and biodiversity.
