We arrested a poacher last night at 3 in the morning - he was hunting with a spotlight, dogs, and a knife in his possession. Claims he was looking for his goats. He already had a suspended sentence from a December poaching incident. Let's hope the judiciary steps up to the plate.
Nature can and will remain resilient as long as we have good people on the ground, night and day, guarding our wildlife. I have a fabulous anti-poaching team. Grateful for their hard work and determination. This is what we are protecting. All of it.

A new visitor in camp - a Limpopo Girdled Lizard - Cordylus jonesii. What a fabulous find this morning! Placid, completely unfazed when I picked it up to move it to a safer place. It didn't move when I put it down and was happy to pose for a few photos. Herpetogist Shiela Broadley told me they give birth to live young. Not common.

A happy crew at the dinosaur fossil on Sentinel.
The "other" Beitbridge Bristows hosted a primary school reunion with old schoolmates at Nottingham and brought them over to see the Massospondylus fossil. What a hilarious group! So rewarding having people who really take an interest in the fossil history of southern Africa.
