Lin Barrie is a celebrated Zimbabwean artist whose creative journey spans Harare and the south-east Lowveld (Mahenye Village), where she has lived for over two decades with her partner, Clive Stockil, drawing inspiration from Tsonga/Shangani culture, conservation around Gonarezhou National Park, dance, fashion and textiles. With deep roots in the textile industry, Lin seamlessly blends art, fashion and cultural heritage while drawing inspiration from the people and traditions of her Mahenye community.

She urges Zimbabwean creatives to collaborate, invest in marketing their work and embrace festivals and local platforms, ensuring their talent does not become “a voice in the wilderness.” Inspired by artists like Moffat Takadiwa who have gained international recognition, Lin believes Zimbabwe must strengthen local platforms to showcase its creative products and bring global appreciation back home.
