Tafika Zambezi is the most scenic lodges in the heart of the Lower Zambezi Valley, situated in the Sapi Safari Area which is downstream from Mana Pools. With the lodges’ comfortable rooms, green lawns and breathtaking views of the Zambezi River, what more would one need to enjoy a break from busy city life with family and friends? Sapi Safari Area has recently been shut down to all hunting and is now solely an ecotourism wildlife and fishing destination. Our River frontage provides some of the most exciting and rewarding Tiger Fishing in the world. The area provides exceptional water-based Game Viewing opportunities and boasts over 300 Bird Species, including several ‘lifers’ such as the African Pitta, Narina Trogon & Pels Fishing Owl.

One of the Zambezi Valley’s most colourful summer visitors.

The Southern Carmine Bee-eater follows an incredible annual journey across the African continent. From August to November, they arrive along the riverbanks of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana, bringing with them unmistakable flashes of brilliant carmine and turquoise.

As the season changes, they continue south into South Africa before eventually making their way north again towards equatorial Africa from March to August.
