We had an interesting sighting this past weekend ... a group of 7 subadult lions (3 male; 4 female) moved into our concession from the south. This isn't unusual in itself, but our territorial male lion - Dube - instead of scattering the young males and chasing them off actually decided to join them and spent about 24 hours with them as they moved across his territory and even beyond it to the east. Perhaps he was hoping to steal a kill from them.
(Dube isn't pictured here)

This young male leopard has been a gift at Camp Hwange over the last few months since he moved into the area. Yet you still have to enjoy the silent reverence and awed whispers of the observers in this video. Absolutely appropriate for leopard sighting.

2 wild dog kills. In camp. In 30 minutes!

The Khumbula Pack first chased an impala ram into the waterhole in front of Camp Hwange over the weekend, then managed to kill a young impala. They waited patiently for the ram to try and make a run for it and managed to bring him down in front of one of the rooms.
