I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of Harvest Church in Harare, to thank you for the great time we had on our men’s camp at Tiger bay last week. Not only were the staff excellent in their care and ex*****on of their duties, but the food was plentiful and excellent.
I’d like to mention a couple of highlights for your interest and encouragement. An expectation of a number of the men on camp – 42 in all – was to catch a tiger fish of some significance. Well on the weekend away the first tiger was caught right outside Lodge 6 in the bay, weighing in at 5.5kgs. The following day on the other side of the bay less than 100 metres away, another tiger weighing in at 1.3kgs was caught and on the last day of the trip a 3.3kg tiger was caught along the tree line just across the Ume. The fact that one didn’t have to travel long distances to catch tiger but could do it right in the bay was a bonus.
The theme of our weekend away was ‘Unity’ and the environment at Tiger Bay lent itself to the talks and exercises that had been planned. We met downstairs after the meal and this proved to be a good decision as it was cooler and wide enough to accommodate all the campers. The pool was in good condition and although the weather was extremely kind to us, it certainly was put to good use both as part of the unity exercise but also as recreation. Each of the lodges provided the comfort needed and the showers provided plenty of warm water for all on camp.
The game walks saw the usual local wild life, however a lion kill was observed from start to finish by 4 of our fishermen on the other side of the Ume. This was the 3rd time we have heard of people experiencing this in the past year at Tiger bay. All in all, it was a weekend to remember not just from the fellowship but from the warm reception we received at the hands of your staff and the care we received while at Tiger bay. We look forward to more opportunities and experiences like this in the future. Please pass our sincere thanks onto all involved in your team.
Many, many thanks and best regards,
