Before synthetic colors, there was the Earth.

Roots, bark, flowers, insects, minerals, ash, and plants shaped the colors of Armenian textile traditions for generations. Every thread carried the memory of the land it came from.

At Woolway Studios, we continue exploring the connection between biodiversity, natural dyeing, and cultural heritage through wool, weaving, and traditional craftsmanship.

This challenge is an invitation to see nature not only as landscape, but as color, knowledge, and living memory.

Մինչ արհեստական գույները, գոյություն ուներ բնությունը։

Արմատներ, ծառի կեղև, ծաղիկներ, միջատներ, հող, մոխիր և բույսեր՝ հենց դրանք էին դարեր շարունակ ձևավորում հայկական տեքստիլի ու գորգագործության գույները։ Ամեն մի թել իր մեջ կրում էր այն հողի հիշողությունը, որտեղից ծնվել էր։

Woolway Studios-ում մենք շարունակում ենք ուսումնասիրել կենսաբազմազանության, բնական ներկման և մշակութային ժառանգության կապը՝ բրդի, հյուսքի և ավանդական արհեստների միջոցով։

Threads of Tradition, Community & Creativity

What a beautiful day at Woolway Studios - Weave, Stay, Create!

Watching the wool soak up rich natural colors, hearing stories, and sharing laughter reminded me how special it is when traditions stay alive through people coming together.
