Our water at Gnylmarung is pumped from a natural spring and is usually drinkable. But at the moment, due to heavy rains the water isn’t as pure so we have been advised that campers should boil drinking for at least one minute, then allow it to cool.

As our crushed ice comes from the same source, it should only be used to chill drinks and wrapped food. Do not put ice in drinks.

And when showering it is advisable not to inhale water through nostrils or mouths.
When our water tests pure again we will advise our campers.

Water Safety – Campground Rules

The bay at Gnylmarung may be used for swimming, snorkelling, and fishing at visitors’ own risk. The bay is a natural marine environment and is home to a range of wildlife, including sharks and the occasional crocodile.
All campers and visitors must exercise extreme caution in and around the water at all times.
Parents and guardians are fully responsible for the supervision and safety of children while swimming or playing near the water’s edge.

A great start to season 2026, with a full campground over Easter. We are almost fully booked for the Anzac weekend as well as the WA holiday weekend at the end of May. It seems that everyone is booking ahead to avoid missing out. July school holidays are full too.

Due to the uncertainty of fuel availability we might get a few more cancellations so we will set up,a waiting list for those periods that are booked out.
Also in the busy periods there will be times when it won’t be possible to extend bookings. We know you will understand.

One big request from Delma and Alphonse….. they generously allow you to check in from 11 am to 4 pm. Most other places make checkin in the afternoon only. But please do not arrive after 4PM. That is the absolute latest time. If you are delayed for any reason and arrive after 4 pm you must set up in Camp 1 (formerly the overflow) and check in after 8 am the next morning.

We look forward to seeing you sometime in this, our last, tourist season.

To all our campers who are booked in for Easter, Alphonse today checked the road in from Cape Leveque Road, and says there is some water on the track, but you should have no trouble if you drive close to the left side of the road. They look forward to welcoming you on arrival.

2026 is going to a very busy year for Gnylmarung. We are almost fully booked for the long weekend in May, and also for the July school holidays.
We are closing at the beginning of October, so if you want to join us once more and enjoy the serenity of Gnylmarung, it would be advisable to book online ASAP.
Just a reminder, when you book, please don't request specific sites, Alphonse allocates sites on your arrival.
And remember, as per your booking confirmation, arrivals must be before 4 pm. Anyone arriving after 4 will be asked to set up in Campground 1 (near the front gate) overnight and proceed to the campground the following morning.
This year we will have a good selection of merchandise, so if you are after a shirt or stubby holiday etc. bring cash.
