🌿Plastic free July - A month of small swaps.🌿

As plastic free July comes to an end, we’re reminded that sustainability isn’t about being perfect - it’s about making small, thoughtful choices that become everyday habits.

This month we have shared a few swaps we have made at Kaiser Ridge. We are still learning, but each small step helps reduce waste and protect the beautiful place we all love to enjoy.

🧴Plastic Free July - Refill, Reuse, Repeat

One of the simplest ways we’ve reduced single use plastic at Kaiser Ridge eco stay is by changing the way we buy everyday essentials.

Instead of buying a new plastic bottle of soap, shampoo or container each time, we refill our existing containers and buy in bulk whenever we can.

It’s a small change, but over time it means fewer bottles being made, used once and thrown away.

We love using products from The Commonfolk ~ Scent for moods, moments & memories. whose refillable approach makes it easier to keep good products in use for longer. 🌿

For us, sustainable living isn’t about getting rid of everything we already own. It’s about making thoughtful choices when something needs replacing - and finding ways to reuse what we already have.

☕️ Plastic Free July - One Small Swap

Coffee always tastes better when it’s supporting both the planet and your local community.

This week, our Plastic Free July challenge is a simple one: take your keep cup when you grab your takeaway coffee.

We are fortunate in South Australia to have already made the swap to compostable takeaway containers, which absolutely helps! However your keep cup only takes a moment to remember, but it can save thousands of single use cups from ending up in landfill.

If you’re visiting the Barossa, two of our favourite local cafes, Hive Barossa and Canteen are both happy to fill your keep cup with your favourite coffee. It’s a small habit that makes a real difference - and it’s a great way to support local businesses that share a commitment to reducing waste.

🥛 Plastic Free July - one small swap.

This week we’ve made another simple change at Kaiser Ridge eco stay.
We’ve swapped plastic milk bottles for reusable, refillable glass bottles.

It’s a small change, but one that helps reduce single use plastic while supporting a more circular way of doing things. The bottles are collected, washed and refilled, ready to be used again and again.

Sustainability isn’t about being perfect - it’s about making thoughtful choices wherever we can. Every small swap adds up, and we are always looking for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint while creating a beautiful experience for our guests. 🌿

Plastic Free July - Start in the kitchen 🍋🌿

Take a look around and pick just one single use or plastic item to replace this month.

Maybe it’s:
🌿A reusable produce bag instead of plastic bags.
🥣A glass container instead of cling wrap.
🧴A refillable dish soap bottle.
🧺A compost bin instead of rubbish bag for food scraps.
🥤A reusable coffee cup or drink bottle.

Small swaps might seem insignificant, but when thousands of people make them together, the impact is enormous.

At Kaiser Ridge eco stay, we’ve discovered that sustainable living doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s simply about making thoughtful choices, one step at a time.
