A WARMER SOLSTICE GATHERING!.
Joining us for the ? Here's a warmer option to enjoy if sunrise is too brisk for you! We'll be marking the lowest and northernmost solar noon and the longest noontime shadow cast all year!

When the Sun reaches its highest daily point in the sky, that's solar noon! At the Winter Solstice, the Sun's pathway through the sky is the lowest all year

👉 Starts 11:15am, Sunday 21 June 2026 at the in Centennial Parklands Glen Innes.

Crofters Cottage is open 8:30am to 2pm for coffee, delicious bakes and lunches. 12:30pm ASSMB Fundraising raffle - tickets sold and drawn before 1pm on the day with great prizes to be won!

11:15am - Gather at the Human Sundial - where you make the shadow to show the time!
11:25am - Piping in the Solar Noon Gathering
🧙 11:30am - Gather as we celebrate Celtic Winter Solstice traditions including Wren Day! See how the seasons and Winter Solstice comes to be. Watch the shadow cast by the Stone move closer and closer to the marker
🌞 11:55am - The Winter Solstice marker is crossed! The year's longest shadow is cast by the lowest noontime Sun all year!

👠 At midday, the very first The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, Glen Innes NSW will perform the iconic Kate Bush dance in the Stone Circle!

12:30pm - Head over to Crofters Cottage for the raffle draw - you'll love the prizes to select from celebrating the day and our district!

Join us on Saturday, 20 June as we open the doors to the newly reimagined Glen Innes School of Arts & Music, AKA the old Severn Shire Council building!

Mayor Margot Davis will officially open the day at 11.00am, with activities happening across the building from when doors open.

This is a great chance for the community to explore the repurposed facility and experience how it’s being transformed into a creative, community-led hub.

There’ll be a mix of presentations, workshops and live sessions throughout the day, all designed to show how the space can be used and how you can get involved.

Come through, have a wander and see the space in action.
