There are 14 bush campsites scattered throughout the 680 acre property your nearest campers apart from your group will be 30 to 50 metres away from your tents

October long weekend I had a camper request a change of site 8D because of the bats. At the time thought it was a bit strange because we hadn't seen them here since the drought 2022. This past week heard them around the house at sunset. Tonight I was outside and they are back in a very large flock ranging in all sizes heading South West. Extreme weather! Yes we in the Scenic Rim have had 6 major declared disasters within a 5 year period. Looking at the headlines they seem to forecast these every time we have some expected rain. We had 4mm early this morning, enough to keep the grass green and settle the dust. We do need more rain with tanks below a quarter capacity. Don't let extreme headlines rule your life. There is so much to see around our back yard so plan a weekend away, enjoy mother nature at her best and occasionally her worst. Weatherman headlines love to kill tourism. Since the beginning of October we've only had about 5mm rain. Forecasts this week was possible rain every day so we scattered clay breaker, lawn seed and fertilizers in different campsites around the park. No rain so far and tanks getting very low. Apart from that birds let us know when its daylight, The wallabies are keeping the grass down and Mother Nature is in full Spring activities. Yes vacancies and a perfect time to get away from the crowds.

Our park opens 7am check in and set up camp. Head in to Rathdowney Bowls for a game. Learn about a country towns history Rathdowney Visitor Information Centre pick up lunch back for a 4x4 drive in the park, relax and enjoy a campfire and beautiful night sky's.
