Spring has started to find its way back to Dunmore. The paddocks are green again, the avenue of white blossom along the driveway is flowering and our calves are finding their feet.

Beyond it all, the Cottage sits in the middle of 150 acres of working farmland.

Mornings might begin with eggs from the hen house and coffee on the verandah, followed by a walk through the paddocks or simply seeing what is happening on the farm that day.

There are no itineraries and very little you need to do once you arrive.

Walk the paddocks. Make breakfast. Light the fire. Meet the animals. Pour a glass of something good on the verandah and watch the afternoon disappear because sometimes getting away is really just about getting back to a different pace.

Dunmore isn’t a wellness retreat, at least not by the traditional definition.

There’s no spa menu, prescribed program or schedule to follow. Instead, there’s space to step away from the usual demands of everyday life and spend a few days differently.

Long stretches outside, walks through the paddocks, time with the animals, nourishing food around the table, good conversation and the freedom to let the day unfold.

We slow down. We sleep better. We notice what’s around us and have more time for ourselves and each other. Wellbeing here isn’t something we’ve set out to package or prescribe. It happens quite naturally.

With the school holidays coming up, if a nature-filled, device-free stay is calling - pack your bags, boots and bikes. There’s plenty to do, or nothing much at all.

The winter feels are very real here at Dunmore today. Heavy rain, cool temperatures and exactly the kind of weather made for a fire and a weekend in the country.

And there’s just one winter weekend left to make the most of it.

21–23 August

Then spring arrives and the farm starts to shift gear. Longer days, new growth and more time outdoors, but for those wondering, fireside gatherings are still very much part of your stay at Dunmore.

Our next spring weekend is 11–13 September, with stays also available over the September school holidays.

This morning was exactly why we restored the old shearing shed.

Not simply to preserve a beautiful old building, but to create a space where people could gather - where creativity is shared, conversations unfold and new friends leave feeling like old friends.

Sometimes, 48 hours is just enough. Enough time to wake with the winter light instead of an alarm. To watch the morning sun settle across the paddocks as the coffee brews.

To breathe crisp country air. Wander the farm. Read by the fire. Soak in the warmth of the bath or the wood-fired hot tub beneath the High Country sky.

No schedule.

No devices.

Some things simply belong.

A crystal chandelier in a shearing shed perhaps isn’t one of them yet somehow it feels exactly where it’s meant to be.

For me it’s become a favourite corner of the farm and a gentle reminder that beauty can often find us in the most unexpected places 💫

Swap screens for starry skies, traffic for country roads and the usual routine for a few days on the farm.

Collect eggs, meet the goats, wander the paddocks, toast marshmallows by the fire and discover just how entertaining “doing not very much at all” can be.
