☀️ School holidays are getting close, and bringing our favourite weather! 🌊

If you’re still thinking about a last-minute Straddie escape, don’t overlook Amity Point. 🌿

Quieter, relaxed and away from the busier holiday crowds, Amity is perfect for families who want to slow down and enjoy the best of island life — calm waterfront days, fishing off the jetty, wildlife wandering by and beautiful sunsets to finish the day. 🦘

We’ve also just welcomed two new Amity properties to our collection, Mirimar and Toompany Lodge, which means there are some great stays still available for the holidays.

Pack the swimmers, round up the family and sneak in a Straddie getaway while you still can. ☀️

So many great things happening g during the trail!

A rare opportunity to step inside St Mark’s, Dunwich.

During the 2026 Straddie Arts Trail, visitors will have the rare opportunity to enter St Mark’s Church and experience its remarkable interior, heritage and collection of artworks.

Built in 1907 to serve the community of the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum, St Mark’s was designed by renowned architect Robin Dods, the Diocesan Architect for the Church of England.

Its story is also one of community determination.

In 1973, the historic church was earmarked for demolition by the Redland Shire Council. The community rallied to save it, forming a committee that included Bishop Wicks, F Coolwell and Quandamooka elder and artist Kath Walker (Oodgeroo Noonuccal).

Their campaign succeeded.

In 1977, Archbishop Dr Arnott returned to St Mark’s to conduct a service of thanksgiving, with the community celebrating the preservation of this important place.

Today, St Mark’s is heritage listed and remains a treasured part of Dunwich’s history and cultural landscape.

For the Arts Trail, its doors will open to visitors for a special weekend—an opportunity to step inside, experience the character of this historic building and discover the artworks held within.

At Straddie yesterday! Come on over, the whales are everywhere!

The calf, thought to be one of only a dozen in the Southern Hemisphere, has been spotted swimming alongside its mother.

Migaloo alert! We saw him in Frenchman’s Bay last time he came by. So beautiful and what a privilege.
