We are within walking distance to bus stop, town, beaches and Koala Hospital! We look forward to seeing you soon! Port Macquarie Backpackers is the original hostel in town. It's situated in a beautiful heritage house which makes it more of a home then a hostel. Our staff are friendly and welcoming and are always willing to go that extra mile to make sure your stay with us is one you will remember!

Port Macquarie is located half way between Sydney and Byron Bay but there is way more to Port Mac then it just being a stop over point. The iconic Coastal Walk is a must do, around 9km's of stunning coastline. Get a close up look at our gorgeous Koalas at The Koala Hospital, it is open daily and is free of charge! Why not jump on a sunset cruise on the beautiful Hastings River where you are bound to see not only a magnificent sunset but countless dolphins too!! Or perhaps a whale watching cruise. Port Mac has amazing beaches to kick back on and soak up the sun, Flynn's and Town Beach can be quite protected which makes learning to surf a dream! Try your hand at Kayaking or SUP! If crystal clear waters are your thing then Port Macquarie truely is the place for you. We love to offer advice on what to do and see to make sure you don't miss a thing! The hostel itself has a chilled out vibe and is a great place to go back to after a big day out seeing the sights. Relax by the pool in a hammock or sit on the verandah with a beer and watch the world go by. We are located close to town and all the sights. And if your on the bus then it's the closest hostel to the bus stop! Our facilities are clean and we pride ourselves on that fact. Why not come and stay with us and see for yourself. Hannah, we’ve absolutely loved having you at PMB every single time! You’re officially part of the furniture now 😂

We can’t wait to see you again before you either head home to England 🇬🇧 or take off on your next big adventure — perhaps one that doesn’t involve cruising up and down the East Coast for the 100th time! 😂🚐🌊

🚴‍♂️ MEET DAVID! 🚴‍♂️
David is currently riding his bike all the way to Melbourne… where he’ll then compete in a cycling race from Melbourne to Uluru! 🤯🤯🤯
And the craziest part? This leg of the journey is apparently “just training” for the big race! 😂🚴‍♂️
Our guests seriously never stop blowing our minds with the adventures they’re on! 🌏💪

Simon, it definitely wasn’t your first stay with us, but it was your first as a volunteer! 💙

Across all your visits, you spent an incredible 213 nights at PMB. From guest to volunteer, you’ve been a valued part of our little community, and it was a pleasure having you on the team.

We were sad to see you head off, but we’re so grateful for everything you brought to the hostel. Safe travels, mate—we hope this isn’t goodbye, just see you again soon! 🌏✈️💙
