With just more more week to go, the stage is set for our biggest and best Great Cattle Dog Muster yet!
At this FREE family friendly community event there is a long list of amazing entertainment and attractions.
With a festival feel and country vibe this a great day out!
Come and see Cattle Dog Championship Shows, Sports Events, and Herding Demonstrations.
Live country music will be playing all day featuring Imogen Hall Music, Carrot Bowen & The Collective, Katie Jayne, and six times golden guitar winner Amber Lawrence.
There is lots to keep the kids entertained in the Kids Zone, including Jumping Castles, Slides, The Pretty Amazing Jono, Sparkles the Clown, and Face Painters.
The Upper Hunter Showcase is another feature this year showcasing the best of the Upper Hunter’s Food, Wine, and Attractions.
A range of Food Trucks will be available to enjoy, and this year will see a record number of Market Stalls to browse.
Pet Cattle Dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs along for a day out, with special presentations, training demonstrations, and novelty competitions happening across the day. The very popular The Wonderdogs will also be performing in the Pet Cattle Dog area.
Special guests this year include Bluey & Bingo doing their Live Interactive Experience and Meet & Greets, plus this year will see Farmer Dave with his K9 Super Wall and Temptation Alley.
There is also a Cattle Dog History Exhibit to celebrate the Upper Hunter being the birthplace of this iconic breed.
Entry to this family friendly community event is free, and everyone is invited to come along.

Bring the family for our first Flying Day of 2025 - Saturday 30th August! Explore the museum, see the warbirds fly, and grab some lunch at the brand-new Kittyhawk Café.

✈️ What’s flying? We’re planning to display the F4U-1D Corsair, Hawker Sea Fury, CA-18 Mustang, P40 Kittyhawk and the CAC Wirraway. What a lineup!

🤔 How it works: Simply purchase your regular museum entry ticket when you arrive and enjoy exploring all of the great exhibits. There will be a fenced area in front of the hangar for a great view of all the action.

As is the nature of flying displays, aircraft are subject to weather and operational requirements.

🚱 Boil Water Alert – Scone (Aberdeen & Murrurundi may follow) 🚱

Upper Hunter Shire Council has issued a Boil Water Alert for Scone due to elevated turbidity in the Glenbawn Dam supply following recent heavy rainfall.

⚠️ Timing for When Boiling Is Required:
• Scone: Water was safe to drink until 8:00am 6 August 2025
• Aberdeen & Murrurundi (incl. pipeline): May be added to the alert by Thursday, 7 August - Council will issue an update to confirm timing for those areas.

After the alert takes effect, tap water must be boiled before use for:
☕ Drinking
🥗 Food preparation and washing produce
🪥 Brushing teeth or rinsing mouth
🍼 Baby formula
🐾 Pets’ drinking water

💧 How to boil safely: Bring water to a rolling boil, allow it to cool, and store in a clean, sealed container. Kettles with automatic shut-off are suitable.
💧 Showering and bathing is safe, but avoid swallowing the water.
💧 Wash dishes with hot soapy water or use a dishwasher.
💧 Children should take bottled or cooled, boiled water to school.

✔️ Council is:
• Testing water daily
• Monitoring the system closely with NSW Health
• Working to restore safe drinking water as soon as possible

This is a precautionary measure. We’ll keep the community informed and let you know once it’s safe to return to regular use.
