Tucked away in an eclectic bookstore in Vancouver we found this little treasure 🩷

Mary Schaffer was a pioneer who arrived in Banff long before it became a popular destination for visitors.

She recognized the beauty, tranquility, and magic of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

This book was published in 1911, and it has survived over 115 years 🩷

Mary Schaeffer discovered Maligne Lake, and camped on the shores of Lake Louise before the hotel was even thought of.

We are delighted to have this rare book, that captures the history of the Canadian Rockies by Mary Schaffer, it is certainly very precious to us 🩷

Parking is difficult in Banff, and we have a private, off street parking spot at the Banff Log Cabin for our guests 😀

So you don’t have to stress about finding a spot, or paying for parking, we have your back!

You can drive to the cabin, park in a very safe, private driveway and walk downtown😊

It couldn’t be easier, and it couldn’t be better!

So you’re coming to the Canadian Rockies and staying at the Banff Log Cabin, which one tour do I recommend, this one:

Why do I like this tour over all the hundreds of other options available:

1. You can leave your car parked at the free parking area at the train station and walk to the Pursuit bus depot.

2. This bus tour takes you to Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake, the natural bridge, waterfalls, and a few more spots. You get entry into the three most popular lake areas and time to enjoy the view and take pictures.

3. The drivers are knowledgable and will entertain you with history and stories on the bus, while you relax and enjoy the view out of the window.

4. Parking is impossible, but not when you take the bus, you will be dropped off within a short walking distance to these magnificent views.

5. Stress-free. Easy. Fair price.

Of course, there are many other ways to see these Lakes, but none as easy and guaranteed as this option.
