48 HOURS IN WESTPORT & RIDEAU LAKES
Westport is more than a day trip! Stay a night (or two…or three!), make Westport your home base and discover everything our little corner of the Rideau Lakes has to offer. ❤️
Here are a few ideas for your 48-hour Escape to Westport:
DAY ONE | WESTPORT
Start with coffee & breakfast at Vanilla Beans Cafe and Creamery, The Woodfired Cafe or Tangled Garden Cafe.
Head to Foley Mountain and take in that iconic Westport view from Spy Rock.
Spend some time shopping the village! Wander Main, Church and Bedford Streets and pop into Village Green, Pinecone, Lake Effects, Rosie Yumski's Fine Foods, Life is good Westport, and plenty of other locally owned shops and galleries.
Visit the The Westport Museum grab an ice cream at Spy Rock Scoop Shoppe & Café and stroll down to Westport Harbour to watch the boats come and go.
Make an evening of it with w**e & pizza at Scheuermann Vineyard and Winery, sourdough pizza at Forno, a pint at Westport Brewing Company, or dinner and live music at The Cove Inn.
Then stay awhile! Check into Upper Rideau Bed and Breakfast, The Black Dog Inn, The Victorian Suites, Newboro House Bed & Breakfast, or one of the many accomodations just outside the village.
DAY TWO | RIDEAU LAKES
Hit the road and start in nearby Newboro. Explore the village and Newboro Lockstation, then stop for lunch at The Stagecoach.
🌊 Follow the Rideau toward Chaffey’s Lock and Jones Falls for beautiful scenery, historic lockstations and a taste of the Rideau Canal.
☕ Continue to Delta for an afternoon pick-me-up at BastardCoffeeHouse and a visit to the historic Old Stone Mill.
There’s even more to discover throughout Rideau Lakes. Elgin, Portland, Morton, Rideau Ferry, Newboro, Chaffey’s Lock, Jones Falls, Delta and all the scenic roads in between.
❤️ Then make your way back to Westport for dinner, a drink, live music, a harbour walk or one last shop before calling it a night.
And that’s 48 hours…although we think you’ll wish you booked a third night. 😉
Stay awhile. Explore Westport. Discover Rideau Lakes.
