A conversation we may need to have:
Child: Dad why do people have to kill these cute animals? That's so cruel! I don't wanna have meat again.
Dad: Sweetheart, that's a very good point you just made. Let me explain...
Allah Rabbul Alameen created everything and made humans as best of the creation, because humans worship Allah without seeing Him.
Similarly, every creation has it's own purpose as well. They have their own way to warship Allah swt. Like birds have specific zikr, although human do not understand it.
Allah swt is Ar-Razzak, who provide for His entire creation. Out of His mercy He swt made some animals and birds halal for us to consume. That's why we are allowed to process cows, goats or sheeps and enjoy the delicious meat. This process is very human and animals feel very little pain when we do it correctly.
Young kids like you sweetheart, need to get big, right? "Protein" is an essential nutrition that help us grow bigger and "halal meat" is an excellent source of protein.
I hope you now know that it's Allah's mercy for us to enjoy halal meat.
Also, remember the story of Ibrahim A.S. and Ishmael A.S.? Allah swt wanted to test prophet Ibrahim A.S. that he should sacrifice his son. Allah swt didn't want the actually sacrifice, He swt just wanted to test Ibrahim A.S. if he loves his little son or he prefers to obey Allah's orders. When prophet Ibrahim A.S. actually was ready to sacrifice prophet Ishmael A.S., Allah sent a 'Ram' from the heavens, that got sacrificed instead. Do you know my dear, this story is not only mentioned in Quran, it was also mentioned in Torah and injeel the books that Jews and Christian claim to follow.
I hope now you know that it's not cruel at all to process cows goats and lambs to have halal meat, right?
