This little corner of the world.

The corner of Cooper and East West Rd. has hosted visitors to Pelee Island for....almost 100 years.

First as Gillis Lodge, then Mill Point Lodge, the Tin Goose, the Wandering Pheasant to the Wandering Dog Inn... people come back again and again for a reason.

We take pride in honouring a rich tradition of authentic, old fashioned hospitality and try to bring that to our guests for a couple days at a time year over year. It is extra special when Islanders send their extended family to stay with us and neighbours give us a honk and a wave of approval when they pass.

We are proud of our quiet corner of the world and look forward to sharing it with you soon.

Tuesdays into Wednesdays that feel like Saturdays...

Full house this week with guests from Brantford, London x 10, Windsor, St. Cath's and Ruscom hopped on the 4 wheeler, connected the ancestry dots, tooted about on a car(t), snooped the gates, got up with the sun, found their mission and a quiet corner and even managed to grill up a full meal over charcoal before settling into a campfire with not a fishfly in site! (Sorry not sorry, north end!😜)

They found their homes away from home allllll the way south living the days in between on Pelee Island!

And finally beach days are back! Breaking this early June heat wave with guests from Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, Almont MI, and the third person this year to know where Busy Bee corners is! 🐝

This week was quiet on the island. Perfect for slow rolls on the bikes to Fish Point, a special bird banding adventure, quiet campfires a deux and we even caught a snake being snakey red handed, eating another snake 😬

*PSA: Blue Racer and Melanistic Garter snakes pose no risk to humans. They do not bite unless bothered. Snakes are active on Pelee in spring, do not touch them... Let 'em be unless you're Ryan Wolfe, Delaney (snake girl) or Gabe and co. 🙌

This past week, guests came in from the Hammer, Lakeshore, North Bay, The 'Saug, Welland, Dalton Oh-Hi, London and St.Jerome de QC.

They celebrated 40 years, took some respite time, visited their baby girl, biked to and fro and everywhere in between, hit the HC for some good history lessons, got to see some turtles turtling about and got the hard scoop.

pickerel did not disappoint, appparel was much loved and a handy dandy odometer from tracked over 110km covered by bike in two days 🙌.

Lovely to see some familiar faces in the crowd. See ya in 2027!

The property has multiple stairs and steps. The driveway is gravel. Not all doors are brand new or standard width. Help us, help you. If we can accommodate, we will. If we can't, we'll be honest about that to ensure your safety and well-being.

What a week into race weekend!

Guests from Calamachie, Orillia, Guelph, K-W, Calgary, Echo Bay by way of Cottam and Leamington too, discovered Pelee for the first time and returned for the 11th time to run the half!

They considered cottaging, got some puppy love, raised 10k (‼️), got a front row seat, hit a personal best, lost their shirt and found a phone!

Congratulations to everyone who pushed themselves and ran or walked the Pelee Half Marathon! We'll see ya again next year! 🏃‍♀️

Memorial Day weekend guests came from Fayetteville, Cleveland, Toronna x 6, and Ilderton! The rain did what it does, the games got some good use, and a Hail Mary or... Hail Tom🤔 got guests back on the road and around the island!

They understood the Mission (Hall), lingered at the point, saw some birds, even a snake, biked the East shore, celebrated an anniversary and got the T-shirt to prove it!

Thanks Pelee Motors for some life saving measures on city tire😬

The bad news is we only have about 5 rooms left for weekends in July and August. The good news is, June has some good availability and still some mid week spots available. Book online, well in advance, any time at your convenience!
