And her inspiration: the 1953 classic Roman Holiday.
More than anything, I want to create stories that are fun to watch. I love the kind of films that make you want to live inside them. I’m drawn to captivating settings, magnetic characters, and a playful tone. I’m inspired by art, but just as much by life, by beautiful colours, raw energy, and the little moments you almost miss. The films I love couldn’t be more different, from Roman Holiday and Harry Potter to The Truman Show and The Parent Trap (which I am not ashamed to admit I love). Different worlds, different styles, same magic.
For me, Roman Holiday has all of that magic. Rome isn’t just a spectacular backdrop; it becomes part of the adventure and a character itself. It never feels too polished, and there’s this mix of romance, humour, spontaneity, and real human emotion that makes the whole thing feel alive. It’s charming, funny, and imperfectly perfect.
That’s the feeling I’m chasing.
