September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. 🧡

Across the North, communities will gather to reflect, remember and learn together. We encourage our team members, partners and neighbours in Whitehorse, Dawson City and Prince Rupert to take part in local events and continue learning about the history and lasting impacts of residential schools.

Every Child Matters.

🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day!

For over 20 years we have been grateful to serve the North, helping build stronger communities. Today we celebrate Canada and its people.

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and generations of knowledge that continue to shape communities across the North and throughout Canada.

As a proudly majority First Nation-owned company, NVD is honoured to work alongside Indigenous communities through meaningful partnerships, community investment, and opportunities that create lasting benefits for current and future generations.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional territories of the many First Nations where we live, work, and operate, including Kwanlin Dün First Nation, Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in, Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation, the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun, the Metlakatla First Nation, and the Lax Kw'alaams First Nation.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to listen, learn, and celebrate. We encourage everyone to take part in festivities, cultural events, and community gatherings happening across the Yukon, Northern British Columbia, and throughout Canada, while continuing to deepen their understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and contributions.

NVD is growing.

We’re proud to share that Northern Vision Development has expanded into Prince Rupert, British Columbia, through the acquisition of two hotel properties: Inn on the Harbour and Pacific Inn.

This marks NVD’s first expansion outside of the Yukon, in partnership with Lax Kw’alaams Business Development LP, and Metlakatla Development Corporation.

For more than 20 years, NVD has grown through a model rooted in hospitality, community stewardship, and meaningful First Nation partnership. This next chapter brings that Yukon-grown model to the Pacific Northwest while keeping our commitment to the Yukon as strong as ever.

We are honoured to be welcomed into the Prince Rupert community and look forward to listening, learning, and contributing in a good way.
