The forest stretches farther than the eye can follow.

Then, movement in the treetops.

Binoculars go up. A Red Howler Monkey appears between the branches. A bird crosses the canopy. Another call comes from somewhere in the distance.

From the Canopy Walk, the panorama draws you in, but it’s the life within it that keeps you watching.

Some of the best moments in the Amazon happen between adventures.

Returning to your room, opening the curtains, listening to the rainforest, and taking a moment before heading back out.

One forest. Two woodpeckers. Two unforgettable encounters.

During her time at Sacha Lodge, our guest Angela ( ) photographed both the Cream coloured Woodpecker and the Yellow tufted Woodpecker.

Most of the time, armadillos go unnoticed.

They move quietly through the rainforest, usually under the cover of darkness, searching for insects and turning the forest floor as they forage.

Today, on World Armadillo Day, we celebrate one of the Amazon's most remarkable residents.

🌿 Happy World Armadillo Day!

Long before maps and protected areas, Indigenous Peoples had developed a deep understanding of the Amazon.

Their knowledge, shared across generations, continues to shape how this rainforest is understood and cared for.

Today, we honor their cultures, languages and enduring connection to the forest.

After hours on the trails, along the river, or high above the canopy, the Lake Pool becomes a place to slow down, reflect, and let the rainforest set the pace before the next adventure begins.

As daylight fades, the rainforest shifts into a different rhythm.

Species that remain hidden during the day begin to emerge, from tree frogs resting among the leaves to bats overhead and caimans along the water's edge.

Which nocturnal species would you be most excited to see?

Captured on different days, from different angles.

The same mother tapir and her calf continue moving through the rainforest, offering another glimpse into life within our reserve.

Tapirs are usually solitary, so seeing two together almost always means a mother with her young.

Cloudy eyes are a sign of change.

Before shedding its skin, an anaconda's eyes become temporarily opaque as a new layer develops beneath the old one.

A reminder that even the rainforest's largest reptiles are constantly renewing themselves.
