5 little moments that make a hotel stay in Lapland unforgettable ❄️

It starts with the silence.
That peaceful Arctic stillness, where the world feels softer and time slows down.

Then comes the magic of meeting reindeer right outside the hotel. Feeding them, watching them closely, and feeling truly connected to Lapland’s wild heart.

After a day in the fresh northern air, there’s nothing better than your own private sauna. Warmth, calm, and that deep feeling of relaxation.

And maybe the most unforgettable moments are the simplest ones. Laughing with loved ones, sharing stories, watching the sky change colors, and feeling grateful to be here together.

Then nature calls you outside again. Snowy forests, Arctic adventures, fresh air, and landscapes that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a dream.

The best part?
You don’t even have to leave the hotel to experience the magic of Lapland. 🤩

Maybe your perfect escape is full of speed, laughter and snowy adventures. Maybe it’s slow mornings, romantic moments, your own private sauna and the kind of quiet you don’t get anywhere else.

Whatever you’re dreaming of, those moments are waiting for you. ❄️

Sustainability at Nova Skyland Hotel is not just something we talk about, it is something we work on every day. 🌿

We are proud to hold the Biosphere Sustainable Certificate and the Sustainable Travel Finland Badge, but for us, responsibility is more than certificates. It is the everyday choices, small actions and long-term decisions that help us take better care of our surroundings, our community and the unique Arctic nature we call home.

Across our hotel, we recycle as much as possible, from everyday waste to giving furniture and equipment new homes. Our hotel runs on 100% certified fossil-free energy, and all of our heating comes from renewable, carbon-neutral wood-based sources.

We always encourage guests to make simple but meaningful choices during their stay, such as reusing towels to help reduce water consumption.

Taking care of our surroundings is part of our work too. Every summer, we clean up our hotel area after the Arctic winter, even though our outdoor bins and ashtrays are there to encourage responsible waste disposal all year round.

We also work to reduce food waste by offering leftover breakfast and lunch food to our staff whenever possible.

For us, responsible tourism means doing better step by step. Through real actions that support nature, people and the future of travel in Lapland. 🍃

Spring clean-up time! 🍃✨

This year we’re teaming up with our local folk dance and music ensemble Siepakat to clean up our hotel surroundings after the long winter.

Together we’re collecting waste left behind during the winter season. This way we help protect local plants and wildlife, create a more pleasant environment for everyone, and take an important step toward a cleaner future. Small actions make a big difference for the future. ☺️

Even though we encourage everyone to use the bins and ashtrays around our property, some waste still ends up in nature during the snowy months.

Let’s keep Lapland clean together! 💚
