International Waffle Day, is celebrated each year on the 25th of March, and is dedicated to enjoying one of the most beloved breakfast treats.
Originating in Sweden, where it is known as “Våffeldagen,” the day became popular due to a linguistic mix-up that transformed a religious observance into a culinary celebration.
Today, people mark the occasion by enjoying waffles of all kinds—crispy or fluffy, sweet or savoury.

👋 Hello and a warm welcome to all our new followers!

We just wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves and also say a huge thank you to our fantastic loyal guests who continue to visit our little bed and breakfast, and to all our new followers! 🏠

We are truly humbled by your continued support.

We’re Noel and Cathy, a husband and wife team who have been running our B&B since 2015 (initially part-time). In March 2022, we took the plunge after retiring from our roles as a Senior Traffic Engineer and Laboratory Manager to begin a brand new chapter — running our B&B full time.

Our small business is very much 100% hands-on.
Cathy is our one-and-only chef, cleaner and head of meet-and-greet, while Noel looks after front of house, welcomes guests each morning for breakfast, and also doubles as maintenance man and head gardener!

With no hospitality experience whatsoever, we’ve worked incredibly hard to create a friendly, relaxed and comfortable space, offering our guests a great night’s sleep and in the morning a delicious breakfast made from quality, local produce.

Along the way we’ve been lucky enough to win a number of awards, survive a pandemic, and most importantly meet the loveliest guests who have taken the time to leave so many wonderful reviews — please keep them coming, we really are so grateful!

By supporting us, you’re also helping support and promote the many fantastic local producers we’re lucky to have right here on our doorstep.

We see our role as ambassadors for Northern Ireland, showcasing our wee country as an amazing destination with some of the warmest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet. 🤝
