Princes Street is reopening, and Edinburgh is getting moving again!
We’re delighted to see Princes Street reopening to all traffic this Saturday, 29 August, following weeks of disruption after the fire at the former Debenhams building.
It’s welcome news for the many local businesses affected by the closure and a huge positive for residents, visitors and businesses across the city.
The reopening also means Edinburgh Trams will once again operate from Edinburgh Airport, through the city centre and onwards to Leith, rather than terminating at Haymarket.
That’s great news for visitors arriving at the airport, residents travelling across the city and everyone wanting to get around Edinburgh more easily.
With Princes Street open to traffic and the trams running through the city centre again, Edinburgh is getting back to normal and welcoming everyone back to one of its most iconic streets.
Whether you’re a local, visiting for the weekend or staying with us, there’s never been a better time to get out and enjoy Edinburgh!
Welcome back, Princes Street! ✨
