I am always on the lookout when I travel for items that I feel will make the guest experience offer even better.

I’m not keen on big toothbrush holders because they take up too much space on the sink and collect mess but I thought these small ones were super cute and could be really useful. €12 euros each though?! I bought two.

I’ve agonised over this tile choice for months now. This was the vision that I first had for this sea view apartment but I just needed to find a pair of big girl pants to pluck up the courage and go for it!

It’s a bold choice I understand that but this is a luxury holiday home that needs to scream modern elegance!

These tiles are Travaita Violetta from and I can’t wait to see them teamed with Quench Gimlet for the floor and Fellini Crema Gloss around the toilet and sink. I may do the ceiling in this wall colour too.

My theory is that when you go away from home you want to stay in something that little bit different don’t you?

Meet Frank, he’s had an amazing weekend at Filey Crescent Retreat (not decided on the name just yet!). He especially loved his morning walks along the sea front watching the sun rise out of the water. It was only 7.30am so he didn’t have to get up that early to see these wonderful sights 🌅

He’s been away with his Mum, Dad and 86 year old Grandma and they’ve all had a fabulous time, the food festival was on by their front door, it was great being so close to everything in the centre of Filey. The apartment worked really well for Frank and his 3 family members, he can’t wait to return.

I’d love real marble in the new bathroom but I’ve heard all kinds of horror stories. Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m just about to press go on the Porcelain tiles but I think the marble is next level on the luxury scale. Marble is what I truly want but the first time a guest has a bath bomb or a hair dye and ruins it at this price I’ll cry 😢

I couldn’t think of anywhere better to wake up in the sunshine on a special birthday! The birthday girl is in for treat, I hope she likes her surprise stay.

Th sun is shining and it’s warm enough to sit out with a jumper on to listen to the waves and watch the beach life.
