Just a wee bit breezy…
But so far - so good. Second storm due tomorrow but right now the wind has calmed, the skies have lightened and the light is incredibly beautiful.
Time to get outside and enjoy a local beach walk whilst there’s a gap!

Autumn solstice…
We have passed the solstice and are now officially in autumn! The nights are closing in and the occasional sunsets are now way over to our left and the sun will soon be setting behind Ceapabhal.
Looking forward to lighting the fire and some cosy nights in.

Perfect cycling conditions…
It’s true to say that cycling on Harris is definitely challenging, but when the weather is settled and with a little help from an electric bike (!) it’s also incredibly rewarding. Very little traffic and fabulous views around every corner make the hills worthwhile.
You can hire both electric and regular bikes locally with drop off and pick up available.

When the sun shines and the wild flowers are dancing in the gentle breeze. Not an everyday occurrence but wonderful to be a part of when it does.

Little updates to keep it fresh…
We are so fortunate to welcome guests back year on year to The Sheep Station. With this in mind we like to keep the house refreshed with new additions, paint changes and replacing items. Sometimes we forget to share what we have been up to though! So we asked the talented and now local photographer, Margaret Soraya to pop along and take some photos for us. Hope you like the results and spot some changes too.

All ready and prepared for our arriving guests…We may not have the heatwave hitting most of the UK right now, but it’s warm and the light through the mist is quite beautiful.

Bring me sunshine…(!)
The island has been enjoying plenty of sunny days and evenings lately, but it’s definitely a little chilly for this time of year.
It’s perfect for enjoying long beach walks though and the light is beautiful too.
We have a three or four night stay available from Monday 15 June.

Hiking trails or gentle strolls…
The east coast of Harris is a beautiful area to explore on foot. The landscape is completely different to the west and totally unique in parts too. With its moon-like landscape, meandering paths, small villages, beautiful lochs, wildlife watching, some serious hikes, interesting galleries and the fabulous Skoon cafe - it offers lots of opportunities for visitors.
Time to lace up and get outside…
