🚜 Got a busy few weeks ahead?

With summer events, agricultural shows and plenty happening across Cumbria, September always seem to fill up quickly.

If you're heading to the Westmorland County Show, planning a few days exploring the Lakes or making a weekend of local events, our rooms make a great base.

Enjoy a day out, come back for a hearty meal, a drink in the bar and a comfortable night's sleep before doing it all again the next day.

We're in a handy spot just off the A590, making it easy to get out and about while still enjoying a bit of peace and quiet at the end of the day.

If you're thinking of staying with us, we'd recommend booking sooner rather than later as rooms can disappear quickly at this time of year.

Looking Forward to our regular Saturday at the Gilpin Bridge Inn, the family came up to see us for lunch on Sunday and what do I recommend, it’s difficult to put simply really, great food because they even cater for me (gluten and dairy very intolerant) the lovely staff, who even though they are rushed of their feet,because the secret of how wonderful the place is has got out and it’s busy, still have time to make you feel like your the most important person to them, with a ready smile and a warm conversation. The owner whose heart is massive and only dwarfed by her true gift of kindness to others, or the regulars, who smile and joke like they have know you for ever.
If you have a special on a Friday we will attend to and this can be your venue, no need to hold an event at home, no tidying up or cleaning up afterwards, no stress, just pamper and relax.

A summer walk is always better when there's a pub stop involved.

After a wander around Sizergh, a trip to Arnside, a stretch of the legs at Gait Barrows or a day exploring the South Lakes, we're ready to welcome both you and your four-legged companion.

We've got water bowls, treats, pup ice cream, dog-friendly spaces and plenty of fuss available from the team. The dogs seem to know exactly where they're going these days, see you soon! 🐶
