This Wessex Allure Linden faces south over the fountain lake so you get the light all day, water views that change every morning, and a spot that feels like it was waiting for you specifically.

That stillness. The kind that only comes when water meets sky and there's nothing between you and it except glass and distance.

Our lodges sit right on the lake edge - not overlooking from somewhere back, actually on it - so when you wake up, that view isn't just a nice-to-have. It's the first thing that reminds you where you are.

Peaceful doesn't really cover it.

Wildlife of the Week.

Caught this lot having what looked like an emergency meeting on the lake yesterday morning. All huddled together, flapping about like they were sorting out something important.

Probably deciding who gets the best fishing spots. Or complaining about the weather. Hard to tell with ducks.

One of the things you don't expect when you first visit Heron Lakes - just how much wildlife you end up sharing the space with. Ducks, herons, all sorts. They're here every day, doing their thing, completely unbothered by us.

The Pathfinder Highview is now live on our website, and honestly? It's something special.

50 x 22 feet. 575 square feet of living space with vaulted ceilings that make the whole place feel twice the size. And the views - 180-degree panoramic across the lake. Not bad for your morning coffee.

Outside, it's modern grey Canexcel walls with anthracite windows and extensive decking. Clean, contemporary, looks right at home on the lakeside.

Inside, the kitchen's properly fitted out - high-end appliances, the works. Master bedroom's got an en-suite with LED mood lighting and a free-standing bath. Little touches that make a difference when you're there for the weekend or staying longer.

Sunday morning at the lakes.

The weather has been all over the place this week, if we're being honest. Bit of sun, bit of rain, bit of everything in between. That's Yorkshire for you.

But the forecast's looking sunny for the days ahead, and mornings like this...they're worth the wait.

There's something about being close to the lakes that makes the unpredictable weather feel less of a problem. Rain or shine, it's peaceful here. And when the sun does come out it's even better.

Hours pass differently here.

That's what the regulars tell us...time moves slower by the water. You cast out, settle in, and suddenly the things that felt urgent back home don't seem quite so pressing anymore.

We've got six lakes across the park. Three well-stocked and open now. Some people fish seriously - lines out at dawn, proper technique. Others just like the excuse to sit still for a bit.

Both are fine with us.
