Staying at Ar Lan y Môr places you right in the heart of North Dock in Llanelli, a fantastic place to discover Carmarthenshire (Darganfod Sir Gâr - Discover Carmarthenshire) with the Millennium Coastal Path just moments from the apartment. A short waterfront walk will take you to St. Elli's Bay, a fantastic place to eat, while nearby Cattle & Co Llanelli Smokehouse is another popular waterfront restaurant within easy walking distance.
Golfers can enjoy a round at Machynys Peninsula Golf Club & Premier Spa, a championship links course overlooking Carmarthen Bay. The clubhouse restaurant and Frederick’s at Machynys are also great places to eat, offering fantastic food with panoramic views across the estuary.
The surrounding area offers plenty to explore including the WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre, Canolfan Pentre Awel, Burry Port Marina, Ashburnham Golf Club, Pembrey Country Park and the historic Kidwelly Castle.
From Llanelli you are perfectly placed to explore further across Carmarthenshire and West Wales, including The National Botanic Garden of Wales, the dramatic ruins of Dryslwyn Castle and Carreg Cennen Castle, and the beautiful parkland and historic estate at Dinefwr NT/YG near Llandeilo.
The spectacular Gower Peninsula is also within easy reach, with highlights such as Oxwich Bay, Rhossili Bay, and the famous beaches and coastal scenery of the Gower.
If you fancy travelling a little further, the colourful harbour town of Tenby makes a wonderful day trip along the coast.
