Hello friends,
We have made a retrospective planning application to clarify our use of the studio, and the fact that we rent it out via AIrbnb.
When we first started renting it out, we were unsure whether we would have any guests. However, we’ve found that it has a real place in our community.
There are lots of travellers who prefer to self cater rather than stay in a hotel. We’ve had local guests who have stayed while renovations have made their properties inhabitable.
As an accessible space, it’s proven manageable for guests with specific requirements.
However, overwhelmingly, it’s allowed our community to invite relatives and friends to stay when they haven’t been able to accommodate them personally. In short, we’ve always been humbled by the gratitude of guests who have told us the studio felt like a home from home, and we have made countless friends along the way.
Beyond that, we designed the studio to be architecturally in keeping with our home, and not to impact negatively on our immediate surroundings.
Maybe you yourself, or family, or friends have stayed. Or hopefully you can appreciate this type of short term accommodation can be a positive asset to a local community. If so, we would be appreciative of your support.
