Ngāti Rānana x Air New Zealand Matariki Celebration

We were invited to celebrate with our nationally treasured airline, hosted at The Laundry Brixton.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share our culture with Air New Zealand’s global partners and talk a little about Matariki and what it means to us.

Our members performed Māori classic songs of welcome and celebration, before closing with Haka; which was even enjoyed by people passing by.

Yesterday, we celebrated Matariki here in London. It was a beautiful day of culture, kotahitanga, manaaki and aroha in London’s hottest day of 2025.Whilst we acknowledge those who have passed on in the last year, we celebrate them, their legacy and look towards a prosperous and fulfilling new year. Special thanks to Emma and Ruby, our social coordinators for arranging this special day for us all to share. Also to Toby for always looking after us at one of our favourite London venues!Thank you to all who came and celebrated. Mānawatia a Matariki ✨
