On 2nd August 2027, a total solar eclipse will sweep across southern Spain, with parts of Andalusia experiencing several minutes of totality. And we can think of worse places to watch the sky go dark than from the terrace of your own villa…

Edinburgh Fringe Festival is back, and these are some of our favourite places to stay in and around Edinburgh – from a country house just 10 minutes from the city centre to a coastal escape in North Berwick and even a medieval tower in the Scottish Borders. Because after a day of back-to-back shows, packed pubs and questionable flyer-based decisions, a little space from the crowds goes a long way.
