This is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the hard work, care and high standards our kitchen & front of house team put in every single day.

A huge thankyou to everyone for all your hard work - especially during what has been an incredibly busy summer. It doesn’t go unnoticed, and we are very proud of you all!

And a massive thankyou to all those who continue to support us whether that’s in the pub, on the ferry or camping!! 🍺⛴️🏕️

We had some of the famous Norfolk weather fronts yesterday, being able to watch the little storm roll in was delightful (got back inside just in time) ☔️🌞🫶

At 9am today Thursday we will be closing the chain ferry for about an hour 🤞but we will update when we are operational again 😊

We’re having to close the chain ferry tomorrow morning (20th Thursday) from 9am for some maintenance, hopefully for an hour but we will let you know as soon as we’re operating again afterwards 😊

Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service 🫶

🔥 Yesterday we attended a fire that destroyed a home in Scratby. This fire started due to a bonfire in the garden of a neighbouring home, which spread to trees and then the roof of the bungalow.

The person whose home was destroyed was safely evacuated and our crews prevented the fire from spreading further to other buildings and property.

We are still attending avoidable fires, at a time when our crews are really busy and continue to attend a range of other Norfolk emergencies, including building fires, road traffic collisions and rescues from height.

Since Monday morning we’ve already been to;

🚒 Six out of control bonfires
🚒 Two bin fires
🚒 Eleven field fires
🚒 Two fires in woods

Many of these were caused by deliberate actions that had unintended consequences. The ground is so dry that it only takes one small spark to start a fire.

Please help us by:
⭐ Being careful with ci******es and smoking materials
⭐ Taking rubbish home
⭐ Opting for a picnic instead of a barbecue
⭐ Not having a campfire or bonfire.
⭐ Calling 999 if you see a fire in the open.
