Employment law is changing. Is your business ready?
We're delighted to welcome Rutland Business Leaders to The George Inn on Wednesday 28th October for a practical evening on Employment Law and HR.
Rutland Business Leaders brings together senior leaders and local business owners who meet regularly to share experience, talk through the issues facing local businesses, and to uncover practical ways to support the wider Rutland business community. This evening is open to every Rutland-based business, and you need not be a member to join us. With significant changes to employment law on the way, the session will help local employers understand what is changing, what it means for their organisation, and what to prepare for.
Guest speakers, David Brown, employment law specialist at Hegarty, and Carolyn Deverson, Director of 5D Bespoke People Solutions, will guide you through: What has already changed, and what employers should already be doing; what is due to change in the coming weeks and months; what is still under consultation and may shape the future. Particular focus will be around the changes most likely to affect smaller businesses, including day one employment rights and zero-hours contracts.
David will offer the legal perspective, while Carolyn will focus on what it all means in practice.
Expect clear, practical guidance, with no legal jargon, followed by the chance to continue the conversation in the friendly surroundings of our Parlour and Bar. For over five centuries, The George has been a meeting place at the heart of Oakham's Market Place.
We look forward to welcoming you.
