It’s just over a week since we celebrated turning 50, and as cream tea drew to a close, our evening guests arrived and our afternoon tea guests meandered over to our light adorned stretch tent, where we enjoyed life saxophone, drinks from Conker Distillery, English Oak Vineyard, Après Provence, Double Dutch, and Witchmark Distillery.

The Priory team delivered a delicious bbq of sliced sirloin served with chimichurri, king prawns, and bbq cauliflower. Polished off with Purbeck Ice Cream from the cart. It was a special evening to remember for all of us at The Priory.

On Saturday, we celebrated 50 years of history and heritage at The Priory. 50 years to the day since the doors of The Priory were first opened as a hotel.

We started celebrations with emotional speeches and a toast as a team, then welcomed guests for a Priory cream tea, sparkling wine, and Priory birthday cake. We reminisced, shared guests stories and memories, and enjoyed the garden and river view.

Yesterday was rather special. We celebrated The Priory opening its doors for the first time 50 years ago and a little bit (or a lot) of wind and rain wasn’t going to stop us!

There was eating, there was reminiscing, there was dancing, there were drinks flowing and lots of fun was had by all.

Thank you to everyone who made the effort to join us in marking the occasion.

Enjoying the sunshine ☀️ on the terrace and river. One of our most popular lunch dishes, our Chicken Schnitzel with homemade jus and coleslaw, we recommend enjoying it with a glass of your favourite ice chilled beverage.
