𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 | 𝗢𝗵𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘆: A Day of Courage and Remembrance 🇬🇷
Every year on 28 October, Greece commemorates 𝗢𝗵𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝘆, meaning “No Day”, marking the historic refusal of Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas to accept the ultimatum issued by Fascist Italy in 1940.
This moment marked Greece’s entry into the Second World War and became a lasting symbol of courage, freedom and national unity.
In Mykonos Town, the anniversary is honoured with official commemorations and a traditional parade featuring school students, and the island’s renowned philharmonic bands.
