Two night itinerary. An ideal 2 night stay with us would be:

Visit the world famous Ranakpur temples (due to re-open in October) prior to your arrival at the Lodge. Relax over lunch under our gorgeous 300 year old Banyan tree and explore the property. In the afternoon, if you would like to venture out, visit a neighbouring tribal village and conclude the day with sundowners on a mountain ridge with sweeping views of the breathtaking Aravali hills. Night at Mountbatten. Day 2

Alternatively, if you want an authentic safari experience then spend the night in a private mobile camp in Leopard country, set up exclusively for you. Day 3
After breakfast departure to next destination. The Mountbatten Lodge Experiences
SUNDOWNER......... A not to be missed Indian tradition
Duration: 1.30 hours
Cost: Rs 5000/ + 18% tax per guest
The sundowner is a tradition that was originally introduced by the armed
forces of the British East India Company in the early 19th century when
soldiers would cap off the day with a gin and tonic as the sun set slowly
beneath the horizon. We have identified the perfect vantage point from
which to watch the sunset paint the sky the most glorious hues of pinks,
gold, rose and orange. Of course, this is all done in characteristic
Mountbatten style, with comfortable campaign chairs, warm wraps, mobile bar,
tasty nibbles, candle light and our ever-attentive staff, who are committed
to ensuring the evening will be one you are sure to remember. LEOPARD SAFARI. Duration: 4/5 hours
Cost: Rs 10,000/ + 18% tax per guest
Leopards are nocturnal, solitary creatures so we schedule our safaris in the
cooler hours of the morning or late afternoon when the chances of spotting
the big cats are at their best. Leaving the verdant jungles surrounding Mountbatten Lodge, we drive (in your vehicle) for an hour and half through a district of small picturesque rural villages. Your final destination is Jawai a region of outstanding natural beauty. You will be met by our trackers and transferred to four-wheel drive jeeps geared for all terrains, and designed for wildlife viewing in absolute comfort. Your safari takes you through a landscape rich in variety and beauty. The ancient Aravali range provides the perfect backdrop to lush agricultural fields, and a lake - home to crocodiles and an array of migratory birds including cranes, geese and flamingos. Meandering riverbeds are boarded by acacia trees, flame of the forest trees and cacti. Rising out of the planes you will see spectacular towering granite formations, home to a population of between 40-50 leopards, one of the densest in India. Even if the big cat proves to be illusive, (there is a 70% chance of seeing a leopard) the wonder of spending time in this majestic, unspoiled corner of Rajasthan is guaranteed to burn long in your
memory. HORSE SAFARI ...........Short Ride
Duration: 1.30 hours
Cost: Rs 7,500/ +18% tax per guest (minimum 2 people)
Mountbatten Lodge is home to a stable of pure-bred Marwari horses. My
ancestors, the Rathores, were the traditional rulers of the Marwar region and
began breeding the Marwari at the beginning of the 12th century. These fine
horses have ears that are distinctively curved inwards, making them unique
and easily recognisable. On the way to a Garacia tribal village you will pass through a lush green valley which is home to a myriad of birds and wildlife. This guided experience is suitable for enthusiasts and beginners alike. Chaps and riding helmets are supplied. KUMBALGARH HORSE SAFARI....... Long Ride
Duration: 5 hours
Cost: Rs 15,000/ +18% tax per guest (minimum 2 people) booking required the day prior. After an early breakfast, we drive 40 minutes to the historic Kumbalgarh
fort, which is perched on one of the highest hill peaks of the
Aravalis, the oldest mountain range in existence. Kumbalgarh has a perimeter
wall that extends 36 kilometers, making it the longest continuous wall in
the world after the Great Wall of China. Our horses will be waiting to take you on the first leg of your ride through
the Kumbalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to many endangered species
like wolf, leopard, hyena, jackal and sloth bear. The three-and-a-half-hour ride ends at the impressive Ranakpur Jain temple, famous for its beautiful marble carvings. Constructed in 1439, the temple is an astounding architectural creation,
with 29 halls, 80 domes and supported by 1444 marble pillars, each of them
intricately and artistically carved yet no two of them are alike. From the temple, we will drive back to the Lodge, which will take
approximately 20 minutes. VILLAGE TREK......Easy village walk near the Lodge. Duration: 1 / 1.30 hours
Cost: Rs 1500/ + 18% tax per guest
Mountbatten Lodge is surrounded by the unspoiled nature of the Aravali
Range, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. This short trek,
leaving from The Lodge either in the morning or afternoon, takes you through
jungle trails and past local villages where the rituals of daily life are
carried out as they have done so for centuries. The chance to catch a
glimpse of authentic Rajasthani rural life is truly a humbling experience. Accompanied by a staff from the lodge. Temple and Fort Trek - Covering a distance of approximately 16 kms
Duration: 5 hours
Cost: Rs 3000/ + 18% tax per guest
A drive of around 40 minutes takes you to the historic Kumbalgarh fort,
which is perched on one of the highest peaks of the Aravalis, the oldest
mountain range in existence. Kumbalgarh has a perimeter wall that extends 36
kilometers, making it the longest continuous wall in the world after the
Great Wall of China. After experiencing the majesty of the fort, continue on foot through the
Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to many endangered species like
wolf, leopard, hyena, jackal and sloth bear. Your 4 hour trek ends near the
impressive Ranakpur Jain temple, famous for its beautiful marble carvings. From the temple, we will drive back to the Lodge, which will take approximately 20 minutes. Most of the staff at Mountbatten belong to The Rathore clan. The Rathores who established Jodhpur in 1459 have a responsibility towards them. Though uneducated, they are proud people, their desire to please is clear. Owner Reggie Singh provided employment for the local tribal's, using them for all construction work of the lodge.
