Being born during a snowstorm is a powerful beginning to a life. My father wanted to capture that exact moment by painting it, catching the snowy stillness at the storm's end. It is the painting that my mother placed in the entrance hall, and it is the very first artwork that guests of our Maison d'hôtes encounter as they walk through the door.
