Right now Josephine is at her sewing machine making new white sheets for the rooms and Bridget is out on the balconies sanding the wooden chairs back by hand. It is the people who make Home Sweet Home feel like home.

A year ago this week we were cleaning up after Hurricane Melissa. The same crew that saw us through the storm is right here getting ready to welcome you back.

Home Sweet Home now runs on solar ☀️

Every building here has panels on the roof, 94 in all, with 8 batteries to store the power.

The same sun you come here for keeps our lights and WiFi on. JPS, Jamaica's power company, is our backup.

Charlie has been building this place up since 1980, and solar is the newest addition.

We want to give a special shout out to our valued guest Tom and Bill for always supporting and developing our Internet infrastructure here at HSH. Before hurricane Melissa we had great Internet support but after it’s still a struggle. Well, after 4 days of assessment and testing we are proud to say every single room has strong signal and it’s all because of these hardworking men. Tom and Bill we thank you so much for re wiring, programming and installing all these new tools for us.
