Ta Prohm is a ancient temple located in the Angkor Archaeological Park, which is different from other temples because the trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of the most popular temples for visitors to the area. This temple was built in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII and is about 13 km from Siem Reap city.

Baphuon Temple in the Green Season! 🌿

Baphuon Temple is a temple-mountain representing Mount Meru, the abode of Lord Shiva. The temple’s original name was “Tribhuvanachudamani,” which was later shortened to “Bhuvan” and eventually became “Baphuon” or “Baphoun.” The word “Bhuvan” means “the one who rules over the three worlds.”

The temple is a massive pyramid standing approximately 35 meters high, divided into three levels. It was built by King Udayadityavarman II in the 11th century to enshrine a linga on the uppermost level.

ទីនេះក៏សម្បូរប្លង់ថតរូបស្អាតៗ និងទេសភាពប្រាសាទនេះពិតជាប្លែកមែនទែន ហើយបើសិនជាបានឡើងមកខាងលើប្រាសាទ នឹងបានឃើញចម្លាក់ព្រះពុទ្ធផ្ចាញ់មារចំនួន ៣៧អង្គ ឆ្លាក់នៅលើជញ្ជាំងខាងក្នុងទាំងបួនទិស​។

Ta Tuot Temple is located at the eastern side of the group. The temple is made of sandstone and stands on a tall platform, with four stairways leading up to the central sanctuary and entrances on all four sides.

Ta Tuot Temple is also a beautiful and peaceful place for photography, offering a distinctive view of the temple and its surrounding landscape. After climbing to the central sanctuary, visitors can see rows of seated Buddha carvings inside the walls. These carvings are especially notable and are one of the temple's most distinctive features.
