First up, the Spotted Eagle Owl 🦉 our team member Emmanuel noticed this majestic bird one evening and just HAD to capture some footage of it perched in the trees surrounding the lodge.

Wildlife you can spot at Tongole 🐘

Here at Tongole, Malawi’s wildlife is everywhere.

🐘 Elephants are regular residents here, often spotted wandering through the riverine below your balcony or passing through the lodge itself.

🐦 You can spot some of the reserve’s bird life, including the Spotted Eagle Owl and the Narina Trogon, one of the Nkhotakota Reserve’s rarest birds.

🦛 Hippos, warthogs, monkeys and more can be seen here too. Whether at the lodge itself or whilst on a guided bush walk with our expert local team, no two days are ever the same.
