🦈 Shark Week is almost here!

I just had the chance to see my all-time favorite movie, Jaws, back on the big screen—and it never gets old.

Every time I watch it, I tell myself it won’t affect me… and then the next time I’m out swimming in the beautiful Sea of Cortez, I catch myself wondering what’s below me. 😂

Thankfully, Rocky Point is known for its calm, shallow waters, but I still can’t help hearing that famous “duuun… dun… duuun…” theme in my head every now and then.

Now here’s an idea… wouldn’t it be fun if the theater in Rocky Point did an annual Shark Week showing of Jaws? I’d definitely be there!

🦪 If you’re an oyster lover, Cholla Bay Oyster House deserves a spot on your list!

I recently stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller, Oyster Ceviche, and Fried Oysters—and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.

Add in the waterfront views, an ice-cold mango margarita and the laid-back atmosphere of Cholla Bay, and you’ve got a pretty great way to spend an afternoon.

If you’ve been here before, what’s your favorite thing on the menu? And if you haven’t… would you try the Rockefeller, the ceviche, or keep it classic with fried oysters? 🦪🍺👇

♟️ Who knew Rocky Point had a chess night?

While hanging out at Zays for karaoke, I noticed a couple of locals setting up a chess board. Before long, we were talking strategy, making new friends, and playing a few games.

Turns out they’re starting a Wednesday night chess club, and everyone is welcome—locals and visitors alike.

It’s moments like these that remind me Puerto Peñasco is more than just beaches and great food. It’s the people you meet along the way.

Would anyone be interested in joining a game on their next trip?

The office? Apparently it’s wherever JJ parks. 😂

I caught up with Sonora Realtor JJ while he was submitting an offer… from the beach. Laptop, printer, Starlink, and a view that definitely beats a cubicle.

Then he gave me a tour of this beautiful villa at Bella Sirena in Puerto Peñasco. If you’re thinking about buying in Rocky Point, this one’s worth a look.

Sandy Beach has a new attraction! 🌊🚤

Saturday’s strong winds pushed the EcoFun 1 party barge onto the beach, where it now sits stranded near Sonoran Sky. It’s definitely not something you see every day and has quickly become a popular photo spot.

The skies are overcast today, but the weather couldn’t be nicer. For the middle of June, it’s a welcome break from the usual heat and a perfect day to enjoy the beach.
