Every Sunday at Van Oys begins the same way: a glass of Champagne Abelé 1757.
Founded in Reims in 1757, Abelé is among the oldest Champagne houses in France. For over 250 years, the house has composed its cuvées from carefully selected parcels across the Champagne region, each chosen for its aromatic character. The wines mature slowly in chalk cellars hewn by hand beneath the city, a craft that has remained unchanged since the 18th century.

Abelé is in 1757 opgericht in Reims en behoort tot de oudste champagnehuizen van Frankrijk. Al meer dan 250 jaar componeert het huis zijn cuvées uit zorgvuldig geselecteerde percelen in de Champagnestreek, elk gekozen op aromatisch karakter. De wijnen rijpen langzaam in met de hand uitgehakte krijtkelders onder de stad, een ambacht dat sinds de 18e eeuw onveranderd is gebleven.
