RASUWA FLASH FLOOD — FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE VALLEYS 🙏
A devastating flash flood has struck the Rasuwa region, with the sudden surge travelling through the Lhende Khola and Bhote Koshi river system and severely affecting communities including Rasuwagadhi, Timure and Syabrubesi, with impacts extending downstream.
The disaster has caused heartbreaking loss of life and significant damage to homes, hotels, roads, bridges, businesses and critical infrastructure. Behind every damaged building is a family, a livelihood, and a community that has supported travellers through the Himalayas for generations.
The map above illustrates the approximate flood route and affected areas—from the upstream trigger area near the Nepal–Tibet border through Rasuwa and toward the downstream valleys.
