IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVISORY FOR TREKKERS IN LANGTANG & RASUWA
Plan Himalaya Pvt. Ltd. would like to urge all trekkers, travellers, guides, and visitors currently in or planning to travel towards Rasuwa, Syabrubesi, Langtang Valley, and the Nepal–Tibet border to take the current flood situation extremely seriously.
A sudden and devastating flash flood has affected the Timure–Syabrubesi area of Rasuwa, along the Bhote Koshi River, following a massive surge of water from the Tibet side. The situation has caused significant damage to roads, bridges, settlements and infrastructure, and rescue operations are ongoing. (Kathmandu Post)
Syabrubesi is the principal gateway for the Langtang Valley trek, and the affected area is also an important route towards the Nepal–Tibet border. Therefore, conditions in the region may change rapidly, and road and trail accessibility cannot be assumed.
Our strong recommendation:
Do not travel towards Syabrubesi, Langtang or the Nepal–Tibet border until the situation is confirmed safe.
Trekkers already in the area should follow the instructions of local authorities, guides and security personnel immediately.
Avoid riverbanks, bridges and low-lying areas.
Do not attempt to cross damaged roads, bridges or trails.
Trekking agencies and guides should continuously monitor official updates before proceeding.
At Plan Himalaya, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and trekking partners is our highest priority. We strongly encourage everyone to put safety before travel plans and postpone or modify journeys whenever necessary.
We will continue to monitor the situation and share verified information as it becomes available.
Please stay safe. Stay alert. Do not take unnecessary risks.
