1. Ask for a video call with the owner or booking agent.
Request a quick video call where they can show you the actual property, entrance, room, and surroundings in real time.

2. Check if they have a Business Permit.
Legitimate accommodation providers should be able to provide proof that they are operating legally.

3. Check their Facebook or social media page.
Look at when the page was created, how long they've been posting, guest reviews, tagged photos, comments, and whether they have consistent activity. Be cautious of pages that were created recently and have very few interactions.

4. Verify if they are DOT-accredited.
You can check the Department of Tourism (DOT) website to see if the accommodation is officially accredited.
