We are Danny & Liz, owners of Escape to Bohinj - Holiday Home, Slovenia. We fell in love with the Bohinj area a couple of years ago and took the plunge to buy a house here. Over the past few years we have carefully restored the house, retaining the historical integrity of the building whilst also providing modern home comforts. We love to share our passion for the area, and let out our home so tha

t others can experience the magic of Bohinj too. We aim to offer a holiday home where you can immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, relax & unwind in a truly stunning part of the world. Breathe in the pure, alpine air, let your skin glow from the sunshine and silky lake water, and sleep well at night from active days in the mountains. Just 60 minutes' drive from Ljubljana Airport, our family-friendly accommodation is ideally situated for a holiday in Slovenia. Set in the Triglav National Park, there are hiking, biking & swimming opportunities on your doorstep. The famous Lake Bled is only 30 minutes' drive away, should you want to explore further afield. "We had a really relaxing time here, the house is beautiful with lots of room for our group of 4 adults to spread out, a nice social living area, sunny back garden with alpine views, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms, laundry facilities and private parking.

The area is quiet with lots of walking, Lake Bohinj is peaceful (we didn't bother with Bled looked too touristy for us), clean swimming, lots of alpine flowers and butterflies. Such a lovely place we will return."

The largest chocolate festival in Slovenia transforms the charming medieval town of Radovljica into a sweet-filled paradise. Picture a traditional market… but instead of crafts, you will find beautifully crafted pralines, artisan chocolates, and irresistible creations at every turn.

Just a 30-minute drive from Lake Bohinj, Radovljica is also famous for its rich beekeeping heritage and exceptional honey 🍯

Spend the day wandering cobbled streets, enjoying street performances, watching live cookery shows, soaking up local music… and, of course, tasting plenty of chocolate along the way.

👣 Step into spring with a walk up to Peč viewpoint. You get fabulous and extensive views down the entire length of Lake Bohinj, with the church and bridge acting as gatekeepers to the lake 😍

The viewpoint is a 20-minute walk from Escape to Bohinj in Stara Fužina (directions in the comments). There is a bench where you can sit down and soak up the picture-postcard view. You may be lucky enough to watch an amazing sunset too 🌄
