ZATRNIK - POKLJUKA - BOHINJ - BLED - ZATRNIK
There are a few spectacular roads in the region Gorenjska, Slovenia, that are worth exploring, if you travel by motorcycle.
The Julian Alps, lakes, rivers and deep forests are surrounding the roads that are just waiting for you to pay them a visit. :)
We recommend the one that starts at Zatrnik, continuing to Pokljuka where you can enjoy the most lush and preserved pine forest, continue to Bohinj, Bled and come back to us for an overnight stay or just to drink some cold Tuborg.
You will be driving through a thick spruce forest with the best setting for your roadtrip you could imagine! Many curves and turns shape this wonderful road.
There are many superlatives that we could use to describe this place and Pokljuka needs to go on your bucket list, as far as motorcycling through Slovenia is concerned. It contains one of the genuine forests still left in the heart of Europe, that will blow your mind, green meadows with cattle, goat and sheep, small villages with little wooden or stone built houses that will not only offer you shelter, but also traditional food and drinks, and so much more.
The spruce aroma will be all around you and you will get the feeling you are in deep, deep wild. In a sense, you really are. These forests here are full of mushrooms, wild animals and plants and so far they haven't seen so much traffic as more popular roads in this region (in touristic sense). One of the reasons behind this is that they are full of turns, curves and usually will be more popular with bicyclists and motorcycle drivers than other ones. A lot of hiking paths run through Pokljuka, so you could easily take a day off and explore not only on motorcycle, but on foot as well.
