The Camp Edge property had originally been used as a mill. The lake came about as the result of digging out around Alloway Creek and the water was used to generate power for the mill. The lake was created in 1850 and was first called Sycamore Lake and then later, Feyl Lake, which is its name today. In 1998, Ranch Hope, Inc., was approached by Green Acres regarding the management of the newly purch

ased Camp Edge property in Alloway Township. Ranch Hope was given the opportunity to lease 77 acres of the land for a period of fifteen consecutive years. This agreement allowed Ranch Hope to leave the camp as it was, or to provide programming which will once again benefit the community and region, while following Ranch Hope’s proud tradition of honoring Christ in all that they do.

🌟🏕️ What an AMAZING Week 2 at Camp YEY! 🏕️🌟

It’s hard to believe another fun-filled week of Camp YEY at Camp Edge is coming to an end! 💙
This week, our friends from The Southwest Council welcomed an energetic group of youth entering 4th and 5th grades for a week packed with adventure, teamwork, new friendships, and plenty of FUN!

From outdoor activities and team challenges to time spent laughing, learning, and making new friends, these campers have certainly made the most of their week. 🌲☀️🎯🛶

📸 Here are just a few snapshots from all the excitement throughout the week!

Today, they’ll finish out their final day of Camp YEY, and we hope they head home with new friendships, greater confidence, wonderful memories, and stories they’ll be excited to share!

We’ve loved having Camp YEY and The Southwest Council back at Camp Edge for another great week and being part of an experience that gives local youth the opportunity to learn, grow, explore, and simply enjoy being kids! 💚

🛶🎣 A BIG thank you to our friends at The Ike Foundation!

Today was an exciting day at Ranch Hope’s Camp Edge as we received a delivery of brand-new kayaks, generously donated by The Ike Foundation!

The Ike Foundation selected Camp Edge/Ranch Hope to receive this wonderful donation because our organizations share an important mission: creating opportunities for underserved youth and introducing young people to fishing, outdoor recreation, and the beauty of nature. 🌲💙
These kayaks will open the door to even more adventures on the lake at Camp Edge, giving the youth we serve opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, experience the outdoors, and make lasting memories.

And a special shout-out to our amazing Ranch Hope Facilities Department and Camp Edge staff who jumped right in to help unload all of the kayaks! 💪🛶 It was definitely a team effort, and we appreciate everyone who helped get our newest additions safely off the truck and ready for future adventures.

We are incredibly grateful to The Ike Foundation for investing in our youth and helping us make outdoor experiences accessible to young people.

We can't wait to get these kayaks out on the water! 🛶☀️🎣

🌟 Camp YEY is underway at Camp Edge! 🌟

We’re excited to welcome our friends from Southwest Council to Camp Edge this week for Camp YEY, a week-long youth leadership development camp for students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades from Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties!

Campers kicked off the week getting to know their teammates and jumping right into some friendly competition with Color Wars! ❤️💛💙💚 The Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green teams will be earning points throughout the week as they work together, build leadership skills, and compete for the title of Best Campers of the Week!

And that’s just the beginning! Today’s adventures include the ropes course, arts & crafts, backyard games, canoeing, swimming, Gaga Ball, archery, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends and great memories.

We love seeing Camp Edge filled with young people learning, growing, working together, and having FUN! 🌲🛶🏹

🚨 Safety First at Ranch Hope & Camp Edge! 🌊

On Friday, our very own Barry Jeffers, Roger Garrison, and Ryen Garrison from Ranch Hope/Camp Edge completed Lifeguard and Water Rescue Certification Training!

With a swimming pool at Ranch Hope and the lake at Camp Edge, safety is always a top priority. This certification helps ensure our team is prepared to respond confidently and effectively in the event of a water emergency, providing a safer experience for the children, families, campers, and guests we serve.

A special thank you to Nick Gorman from the Life Saving Training Institute (LSTI) for coming out to Camp Edge and providing outstanding, hands-on instruction. We appreciate your expertise and your commitment to helping equip our staff with these lifesaving skills.

Investing in training is an investment in the safety and well-being of everyone who visits Ranch Hope and Camp Edge.

🎣 A Perfect Summer Afternoon at Camp Edge! ☀️

Even though camp isn't in session this week, Camp Edge is still a place where memories are made.

We were happy to welcome some local friends who stopped by to enjoy an afternoon of fishing, fresh air, and time together on the water. There's nothing quite like unplugging from the busyness of life and enjoying God's beautiful creation.

🚣☀️ Adventure Camp #2 ended with a splash!💦

Campers enjoyed time on the water, tackled the inflatable, played Gaga Ball, went fishing, and searched for last-minute paper people before the exciting cardboard boat race. We even had a surprise visit from Sasquatch... who was caught fishing for breakfast! 🐾🎣 What a fun way to finish an unforgettable week!

Day 4 of Adventure Camp #2 was packed with excitement from start to finish! ☀️🌊🎣

Campers spent the day on a mission, searching high and low for hidden paper people cutouts to earn points and gain an edge in our upcoming cardboard boat building challenge. The friendly competition kept everyone moving, laughing, and working together!

The fun continued with field games, swimming, boating, fishing, and cooling off in the sprinkler. Campers also challenged themselves on the rock wall, ropes courses, and crate stacking activities, building confidence while cheering each other on every step of the way.

Of course, some of the best moments happened while sharing snacks and lunch with friends, making new connections, and creating memories that will last long after camp ends.

What an incredible day filled with adventure, teamwork, friendship, and fun! We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! 💙⛺🌞
